With the Pool planner you create a club feeling. Members get to know other members. Because you are always linked to a different fellow player, you get to know other players of the association. In addition, it often happens that several matches are played at the same time, so that the group that participates meets each other regularly and a bond automatically arises between the participants.
The Pool planner is ideal to ensure that new members quickly feel at home within the club. You retain members by binding members. The Poule planner is a great tool for this. It is precisely the non-committal nature and flexibility that makes it extra attractive to participate. All the advantages at a glance:
Even nog alle voordelen op een rij:
You can start different pools. E.g. a separate men's and women's pool, and also a mixed pool. You can also create pools for different sports. The Pool planner is especially suitable for doubles pools, so all sports in which doubles are played are eligible. I am thinking of badminton, table tennis, padel and tennis.
You can sign up for the playing dates that suit you best and if you can't make it, you can easily cancel again. Just by clicking on a plus or minus in the app. The sooner you sign up, the more likely you are to play. If there are more than a multiple of four players, the last registrations will be placed on reserve. A few days before the match, E-mails are sent to players whose status changes (reserve or play). For example, if you were in the last group of four and someone else canceled or if you were in reserve, someone has joined to complete the next foursome.
At the beginning of the internal competition, each player starts with his or her current KNLTB ranking. After that, a virtual ranking is calculated based on the match results. This calculation is derived from the official calculation of the KNLTB. The difference in ranking of players who form a pair remains the same after the match.
When generating a match schedule, a proprietary algorithm is used in which a random function and the average current ranking are used. It is therefore not the case that the player with the lowest ranking is linked together with the player with the highest ranking. Random couples are made. Then it is checked which players have not played with each other that often and then the couples are placed together with the smallest possible difference in average ranking.
The results are entered into the app by one of the winners of the competition. In addition to the virtual ranking, a normal ranking is of course still kept, such as the number of sets won and lost and a score percentage.
Behind this app is a back-end for the pool captain. Through this back-end, the captain can:
It's very easy to create new play dates. With a calendar, you choose a period between which the new dates should fall, a day and a time and multiple dates are created at the same time. The pool Captain enters all players once with their KNLTB double ranking and then sends them an automatically generated invitation by E-mail. After that, the group captain has little to do. Everything takes care of itself. In addition, a Whatsapp or Signal group is of course still needed for announcements and possibly to arrange matches outside the fixed playing dates.
